1.State Laws:
• All entries must be taken by legal hunting methods abiding by all state laws.

2. Entries:
• All entries must be measured with antlers attached to head.
• Entries that are already mounted will not be eligible
• Additional entries that are not eligible include road kill and pick up sheds.

3. Awards:
• If a whitetail buck qualifies for more than one award category, the entrant may choose which division he/she wants their deer entered in
• the entrant may change his category during the contest; or an entrant may enter more than one deer, but is eligible for only one award (excludes 8-point bonus division prize)
• Any tax obligation incurred as a result of any prize awarded herein will be the responsibility of the recipient of the prize.

4. Protest & Measuring Verification:
• If an entry is protested then a polygraph test may be required and passed before the prize is awarded.
• Any protest submitted must be in writing and have legitimate information concerning a rule violation.
• The rules committee will be the sole judge of any violation of the rules.

6. Fair Chase Contest:
• No deer taken within an enclosure will be eligible.

7. Junior & Ladies Divisions:
• A junior is defined as a male or female that has not reached his or her 16th birthday by November 1, 2011
• Lady and Junior entries must be the result of a legal harvest without unnecessary assistance from another hunter.

8. End of Contest:
• The last day of Florida’s 2011-2012 general gun season will conclude the contest.
• All entries must be at a scoring station within 24 hours of the end of Florida’s season.

9. In the Event of a Tie:
• In the event of a tie the earliest entry will determine the winner.

10. 8-Point Bonus Division:
• Everyone registered for the Big Buck Contest is eligible to compete for the 8-Point Bonus
• Limited to the contest boundaries
• The same buck may win in both the 8-point division and any one primary contest division

11. Out-Of-Area Division:
• A buck must be taken from outside the primary contest boundaries to be eligible for this division
• Anyone submitting a buck for the out of area division is also eligible to submit a buck from within the contest bounds for consideration in the primary contest divisions.

11. Scoring:
• All entries must be scored at the approved scoring station. All entries will be calculated by total gross score.

Bonus Divisions - New!  

Probably the biggest change to this year’s contest is the addition of our Bonus Divisions. All entrants are eligible to compete for additional prizes in each Bonus Division.

 

 

Echo & ShindaiwaEcho / Shindaiwa Out of Area Division
Forget the contest boundaries!
The Echo / Shindaiwa Out of Area division is open to anyone in any state. The winner of the Out of Area division will win $500 cash, a winners trophy and a free mount of the winning buck from Vanderpol Taxidermy.

 

 

Liberty NationalLiberty National 8-Point Division
We are going to give a special prize to the biggest 8-Point. This division is restricted to the contest boundaries. The winner of the Liberty National 8-Point division will receive $250 cash, a winners trophy and a free mount of the winning buck from Vanderpol Taxidermy.
